This song uses the literal meaning of Expecting Different Results, as in the life and world you expected for yourself isn't how things actually work out. You didn't see the unexpected change coming. In this case, you're Prince Edward V and you expected to be King, but your uncle (Richard III) steals the thrown and locks you in the Tower of London. After writing songs about less known US Presidents, I figured I should try some songs about British Monarchs.
