Alerternate take released on 4 song demo.

This song is about coping with failure. It's a biting critique of even trying. The lyrics taunt someone who has failed. The chorus vocal isn't where it needs to be, but otherwise I still like this song. The music is in keeping with the British 80s new wave feel that I was going for on this record.

You shouldn't have said the things that you said.
You shouldn't have been there to begin with.
What made you think you were invited?
What made you think that you could make it?
You should have known before you started
that you could not succeed.

You shouldn't have gotten up and stood there.
You shouldn't have thought that they would listen.
What made you think the doors were open?
What made you thing that you could fit in?
You should have looked before you started
because the leap was very far.

They're laughing as you're falling from a dangerous altitude
A fool who tried to dance the flight that only eagles know
And when you hit the ground you stare up at the sky and ask
Why am I so wrong?
When did I go wrong?

You shouldn't have tried to move so quickly.
You shouldn't have wandered far from home.
What made you think it would be easy?
What made you think that you were someone?
You should have known before you started
that you're really not alone.

You shouldn't have climbed so far just to fall.
You shouldn't have wanted more than dreams.
What made you think they could be substance?
What made you think that you could win?
You should have known before you started
that it's easier just to lose.

They're laughing as you're falling from a dangerous altitude
A fool who tried to dance the flight that only eagles know
And when you hit the ground you stare up at the sky and ask
Why am I so wrong?
When did I go wrong?
Where did I go wrong?
