The final track on Manchester was a song about childhood nostalgia on Independence Day. Somewhat ironically (Alanis Morissette definition), I was writing about it from England. This song shows a show tunes influence as well as having a slight Pink Floyd vibe.

I remember how the sky was full of fireworks
and all the lights would shine throughout the summer sky.

I remember things. Mom and dad were side by side.
And through the night, the children yelling so alive.

Lost in time I sometimes feel a lost thought
Banners held high I remember a time

I remember friends, only visions but no names.
And the faces blur 'til all I have are vague remains.

Banners held high, flags waving the fireworks flew
and I was scared and ran for the shelter that I knew.
