This song is about an arrogant guy who thinks he is better than those he grew up with because he left their town. It mainly revolves around a catchy melody and odd meter. Overall the song is fine, but the performance is pretty embarrassing, so I don't normally share the recording.

I had planned to record this with electric guitar and drums, but didn't have the time. Some day, I may re-record this song.

Why hello dear old friend
Never thought I'd see you
Been a decade or two out on the sea
Caught a glimpse, maybe more
Remember what we said
On the dock before I was a taken away
A drown or maybe a wave?
Sinking all of my memories of then
Moving from a childhood of pretend

What have you done my friend?
With the time that you've had
Such a shame that you've never gone out to sea
There are glimpses and more
Of the things we both said
On the dock before I took myself away
With drowning or a wave?v The sea engulfed my memories of then
Things that I would no longer defend.

I have seen things you ain't seen.
I have done things you can't do.
Don't you wish that you were like me?

Listen here my good friend
To the things that I say
Standing on my high horse above the town
I see glimpses and more
I'm not sure what we said
On the dock before I was taken away
A drown and then a wave.
Holding all of my memories of then
For a moment I sink and they ascend.

Tell me now my old friend
Of the places you've seen
On the shores of the town I left long ago.
You've seen glimpses and more
Like the things we both said
On the dock before I took myself away
With downing and a wave.
Sinking all of my memories of then
Moving from a childhood of pretend.

I have seen things you ain't seen.
I have done things you can't do.
Don't you wish that you were like me?
