This is a straight ahead rock song but played on an acoustic guitar because the guitarist I had lined up flaked out on me (it wans't Dan). Christian from Silent Bob plays drums on this and several track on Before. It's just a cute little bitter number about being ignored. I can't remember if it was written about anyone in particular. Like all of Before, the performance is not very good, but then Before is mainly a demo.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

I left a message and I thought it would be received
but it's clear that you didn't care to read
the message in my movements
a connection never was reached

I sent word and I thought that it would get to you
but it's clear that the message just didn't get through
past the tangled wires of your hair
you just don't care

I'm getting sick and tired of never getting through
the lines always busy
I'm getting sick and tired of running after you
it takes up too much of my time

I spoke up louder 'cause I thought that you couldn't hear
but now I know there's little beneath the veneer
that could listen to
anything not trifle and mundane

I tried again because I thought you didn't understand
but now I know that you have little at your command
to make sense of all the things I tried to say to you

I'm getting sick and tired of never getting through
the lines always busy
I'm getting sick and tired of running after you
it takes up too much of my time
